For there is no respect of persons with God. —Romans 2:11
The Bible teaches something beautiful about how God sees every person who has ever lived. This is equality before God. When we understand Christian equality, we learn that our race, money, social status, or education level does not matter to our Creator.
What matters is that every single human being was made in His image and is loved by Him.
Dr. Julius Mosley II explains this powerful truth in Living Life with Blinders On: Living Life As God Intended, writing that many people go through life never understanding who they really are or how God sees them.

All Made in the Image of God
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. —Genesis 1:27
The first and most important truth about Christian equality comes from the very beginning of the Bible. God made every person in His own image.
Dr. Mosley explains that God formed the first man from dust. Then God breathed into him the breath of life, which means that every person who has ever lived carries something special from God.
We are not accidents, or are we just animals? Every one of us is an image-bearer of the living God.
This truth changes everything. When you understand the image of God within you, you can no longer look down on anyone. That person begging on the street corner? Made in God’s image. That wealthy business owner? Made in God’s image. Someone of a different race than you? Made in God’s image.
The Bible makes clear that God does not play favorites.
Dr. Mosley emphasizes this point strongly: “[God] created [people] to be equal, but some have come to believe that some men and women are superior to others because of race or inheritance, not recognizing that we all have been cursed.”
This curse came from Adam’s disobedience, but it affected every person equally.
The Problem of Race
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. —Romans 10:12
One of the most powerful parts of Dr. Mosley’s book talks about how God sees our bodies–our “vessels.”
A vessel is simply a container. Some vessels are tall while some are short. There are those with dark colors, and there are those with light colors.
But a vessel is still just a vessel.
A vessel is a vessel and nothing else. These vessels man has called races. But remember, God says in Romans 2:11, For there is no respect of persons with God. ‘no respect of vessels.’ He created all of them for His glory, but man tries to make vessels different. That’s the curse!”
This is a key part of Christian equality. The exterior appearance of a person—the color of their skin, the shape of their eyes, the texture of their hair—does not matter to God.
What matters is what is inside.
“Therefore, remember the body maybe colored, but the soul is COLORLESS. To treat a person on the basis of their color… is living life with blinders on.”
Think about that. The part of us that lives forever—our soul—has no color at all. So when we judge people by their skin color, we are judging something that does not even exist in the eternal part of them.
This is why racism is so wrong: it focuses on something temporary and ignores what is eternal.
Unity in the Body of Christ
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. —Galatians 3:28
When a person puts their faith in Jesus Christ, something amazing happens: they become part of a new family, a part of the body of Christ.
In this body, all the old ways of dividing people disappear.
Dr. Mosley explains that there is a second human race where Christ is the head. The first human race had Adam as its head, but when you are born again, you join a new family. In this new family, everyone is equal.
Everyone stands before God the same way—saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
This is true Christian equality. where it does not matter whether you were rich or poor before you believed, it does not matter if you were educated or uneducated, and it does not matter what color your vessel was.
In Christ, you are a new creation.
The Bible teaches that all believers are part of one body. In a body, every part has a different job. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head cannot say to the feet, “You are not important.” Every part matters.
This is how it should be in the church.
Dr. Mosley warns that even in churches, people can have blinders on. He points to the parable of the wheat and tares. In this story, Jesus says that both saved and unsaved people grow together in the church until the harvest. But this does not mean that God values some believers more than others. All true believers are equally loved by God.

Christian Equality Today
Dr. Mosley asks important questions in his book: “Who am I and who are we? Where did I come from and where did we come from?” These questions matter. The answer is that you came from God. You were made by Him and for Him. And the same is true for every person walking the earth.
Christian equality is not just a nice idea. It is a truth that should change how we live and should change how we treat our neighbors. Christian equality should change how we talk about people who are different from us.
But most importantly, it should lead us to God.
“To not know what is waiting for you and [me] beyond the grave is… Living life with blinders on.”
He reminds us that “it’s appointed unto men once to die and after that the JUDGEMENT.”
The good news is that God has made a way for all people—regardless of race, background, or past sins—to be saved. That way is Jesus Christ. When you believe in Him, you become part of a family where everyone is truly equal. You become part of the body of Christ.
If this article has helped you understand Christian equality better, Dr. Julius Mosley II’s book Living Life with Blinders On will help you even more. In this book, he explains not only who we are, but why we are the way we are. He shares the good news of how we can have our names written in the book of life.
