From the very first pages of Scripture, God’s plan for humanity has never been a secret: He created people to live with Him forever.
But something went terribly wrong (or perhaps it was always meant to be), and disobedience brought a curse on every person. That curse was passed down from Adam to you and me.
Still, God refused to abandon His creation.
And instead of leaving the whole of humanity in the darkness, He prepared a way back: redemption through Christ.
No religious ritual can earn your way back to God, and no good deed can buy it. Only Jesus’ death and resurrection make it possible, where God’s love and justice meet at the cross.
Learn why salvation cannot be earned, see how faith alone opens the door to eternal life, and, most importantly, discover that this gift is free.

The Curse That Made Redemption Necessary
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
—Romans 3:23
“We are living in bodies that have been cursed! No good thing can come from a cursed body.”
This statement from Dr. Mosley cuts through to the heart of our present problem. There are people who try hard to be good, attending church, giving to charity, and raising families. Yet none of these actions, though good, removes the curse. This is a curse that came through one man, Adam, whose disobedience infected every human born after him.
You see, sin has become tightly enmeshed with our nature, not only manifesting in our behavior. Dr. Mosley explains, “You cannot please God with your body/vessel. It doesn’t matter how you dress it up.”
The truth that sin runs far deeper crushes human pride because nothing we do can fix what sin has already broken. Yet, it is this bad news that prepares us for the good news: Biblical atonement through Jesus alone solves this impossible problem.
Why the Theology of the Cross Changes Everything
And according to the law, I may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and apart from the shedding of blood there is no remission.
—Hebrews 9:22
God established that rule in the Garden of Eden. After Adam and Eve sinned, God killed an animal to cover their nakedness.
That pattern continued for centuries.
But animal blood could never fully remove sin, only pointing forward to something greater. Dr. Mosley states that “Christ could not come by the seed of Adam. Adam was sinful but Christ was sinless.” Therefore, Jesus entered the world through a virgin birth, as he had no sinful nature, and to be born through the imperfect coupling of man and woman would dilute His perfection. Upon this earth, for 33 years, He lived a perfect life; then, He died a criminal’s death.
The theology of the cross teaches that Jesus willingly became our substitute, taking upon Himself the punishment we deserved.
It was His blood that satisfied God’s justice completely, so that no further sacrifice will ever be needed. That is the heart of the gospel.
You Cannot Earn Salvation by Grace and Faith
8 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not of works, that no man should glory.
—Ephesians 2:8-9
Most religions teach that good people go to heaven; the Bible teaches the opposite.
“The righteousness of God is not an act, behavior, or any other thing. The righteousness of God is a person, and that person is the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Salvation by grace and faith means God gives what we could never achieve. Grace is unmerited favor, and faith is trusting that Jesus’ death paid your debt in full. You do not add to His work, for His work is already made perfect and complete. One simply receives it.
Many people struggle here because they want to contribute something, and helping others is part of human nature (though it is much repressed).
Adding our efforts to Christ’s finished work only insults the perfection of His sacrifice. It is faith alone that saves, and it is that faith that then produces good works, but the works by themselves never become the basis for salvation.
Redemption through Christ Reconciles Us with God
to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
—2 Corinthians 5:19
Christ’s sacrifice for humanity accomplished what no law or religion ever could: removing the barrier that stood between God and humanity. “Redemption [meant] that He purchased us back from the god of this world.”
Before the cross, humanity belonged to Satan by default because of the curse of Adam and because sin made us prisoners. Jesus paid the ransom with His own blood.
That act of reconciliation with God through Christ restores our original purpose, and we become children of God again, with the curse no longer defining us. Dr. Mosley urges readers that “You must be ‘born again.’ That new birth is a spiritual birth that comes from above.”
This second birth places your name in the Book of Life, transferring you from the earthly family of Adam and into the heavenly family of Christ. Nothing else in the world and beyond can do that.

How to Receive God’s Free Gift
because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:
—Romans 10:9
Knowing about redemption through Christ is not enough; you must act on it as soon as possible.
Dr. Mosley provides a simple prayer at the end of his book.
“Lord God, I know now that I am a sinner… I believe that He did die and was buried and rose again on the third day.”
This prayer helps you ground yourself as you hope that your sins are forgiven, your eternal destiny is secure, and you become a new creation.
“You cannot be a silent believer.”
Water baptism and joining a local church are the next steps–and while they do not save you, they publicly declare what God has already done. Therefore, do not wait because physical death ends every opportunity.
