God’s Righteousness and God’s Love Is Redemptive

In our previous blog, we talked about the divine nature of God’s righteousness and love. We realized that God is a loving Father. He condemns our sins, not us, and helps us correct our ways. As a loving Father, God disciplines us in order to lead us to the right path that’s transformative and full of His everlasting grace. Even in our gravest sins, He loves us unconditionally. And in God’s righteousness and God’s love, we find redemption.
“Living Life with Blinders On: Living Life As God Intended” by Julius Mosley II gives us an elaborate and profound perspective on the understanding of God’s unconditional and redeeming love for us. Mosley’s book tends to help us understand the nature of our human sin. But God has a redemptive plan for us. Explore more about it by getting a copy of Julius Mosley II’s book right away.
Redemptive Interplay Between God’s Righteousness and God’s Love
God’s righteousness and God’s love converge seamlessly in His plan for humanity’s salvation. Despite their distinction, these two divine attributes reveal the deeper truth of God’s character and His relentless pursuit to reconcile our broken worlds and souls to Himself.
The Plan of Salvation
God’s love and justice are perfectly balanced. His righteous nature reflects His perfect justice and holiness. This means He cannot tolerate sin. Otherwise, it will violate His nature and the moral order He established. Since the fall of Adam and Eve, humanity has been doomed by sin. That very sin put the first human couple to stand justly condemned for their transgression of divine righteousness. However, it does not end there, for condemnation is not God’s final word for His creation. Because of His immense and eternal love for us, He could not afford to destroy us. Redemption is His promise of reconciliation with our broken nature.
Behold the beauty of God’s plan. His divine justice does not negate His love for us; no, they work in harmony instead. He desires to restore us to a state of righteousness without compromising His holiness. What is the evidence of this? The cross—the very same cross where Jesus Christ was crucified and died—became the point where God’s righteousness and God’s love meet in perfect unity. Through His only begotten Son, His demands of righteousness are satisfied, and His love is poured out abundantly.
Jesus as the Embodiment of God’s Righteousness and God’s Love
Because of His fully divine and fully human nature, Jesus Christ embodies both God’s righteousness and love. Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience. As the sinless Son of God, He fulfilled every requirement of God’s righteous law. That is why His way of life is worth emulating most. Because of our limited and broken nature, our humanity could never achieve, or even surpass, the moral perfection of Christ.
Yet, even in our flawed nature, God’s undying love for us never ceases. Through His Son, Jesus Christ, we have found redemption for our sins. Jesus’ death on the cross demonstrates the profound sacred union of righteousness and love. His crucifixion is a pivotal moment in our Father’s redemptive plan. Through the weight of the cross, Jesus bore the penalty of our sins. The death of Jesus was also the consequential death of sin, paid in full through His sacrifice.
The Redemptive Work of Grace and Faith

God’s grace is given to us not through works or merited favor. He simply delivers us grace because of His unconditional love for all of us. God’s grace bridges the gap between His righteousness and human sinfulness. In His loving grace, we receive the redemption He offers not as something we have to earn, but as a gift for us.
The way to accept the gift is faith. When we place our trust in Jesus Christ, we acknowledge Him as our Lord and Savior. Through faith, we get to embrace God’s righteousness and God’s love embodied by His Son. Such faith transcends beyond intellectual assent. Faith defies the logic of man—it is the wholehearted reliance on God’s provision in Christ.
